Why?

Bart Stok:

"My work has always been inspired by the human body, both female and male. During recent years the bronzes have evolved from a figurative to a more abstract style. There is still the notion of parts of the human body and body shapes in the sculptures. It is my aim to create art that keeps enthralling the observer. The shapes and smoothness of the sculptures invite touching. The holes and spaces in the bronze create  a certain levity which is in contrast with the heaviness of the metal."
